still a bad idea....

Because 80's hair wasn't bad enough the first time. I ran into these two youngsters near Union Square earlier this afternoon and had to capture the moment.

To top it off; the guy on the right was sporting the classic LL Cool J gold chain with high tops and neon green biker shorts.

Apparently his parents haven't shown him all those embarrassing photos from high school yet.

(My apologies for the poor quality, I snapped this with my Blackberry.)

Can you help a squirrel out?

I was just finishing up some recycling around the house, when I came across this video. Poor squirrel... it's bad enough animals have to watch out for six pack rings but now yogurt cups too!

thinking outside the box

I never really intended to land in the world of sales, but somehow the lure of fast cars, hot guys, and quick money… oh wait… that’s not sales, what was I thinking? I mean; somehow the lure of high pressure, long days in a small cubicle, and never ending anxiety was too hard to resist. So here I am.

It’s inevitable that each day as I plug away on media ‘recommendations’ someone who was copied on one of my emails is likely to chime in with a ridiculous sales cliché. For your reading enjoyment here are a few of my un-favorites for you to gag on.

1. don’t leave anything on the table

2. put your thinking caps on

3. throw something out there and see if it sticks

4. bigger piece of the pie

5. get back in the saddle

6. we’re going to hit this out of the park

7. let’s run it up the flag pole

8. a 360-degree solution

9. value added

10. we will be more than just a vendor, we will be their media partner

11. turn-key

12. that’s a great question, and I’ll tell you why

13. it’s the future of… (insert whatever industry you work in)

14. win-win

15. 2.0 (why would anyone say two-point “o”… the internet has been around for a while now)

16. net-net

17. best practices (are you inferring everyone else uses the worst practices?)

18. viral, virtual, interactive (these all apply to social media… which is going to soon become another cliché)

19. let’s talk offline

20. e-“anything” (this was the predecessor to i-“anything”)

21. coming down the pipe

Have you seen my bling?

I'm not one to brag usually, but COME ON.... how can I not show off the grotesqueness that is this mammoth piece of compressed carbon? Seriously!

Pressure’s On….

I’m rounding out the sixth week since our engagement and not a whole lot has happened. Is it strange that I might be missing the wedding gene every little girl comes with when she’s born? Other than semi-securing a venue and finally deciding on a date, I haven’t felt a real urge to do much for our wedding… and God knows I’m the type of person who LOVES to make lists of totally immaterial things to do. It’s the only way I know how to keep my sanity.

I keep thinking maybe at some point my OCD will kick in, and I’ll go into wedding overdrive. Let’s just hope that doesn’t happen, for the sake of my relationship. The last time it did, I went on a two week eBay binge and bought way, way, way too many Christmas ornaments.

I’m afraid if I suddenly become obsessed with frou-frou details now, Matt may come to the realization that I’m a nut job and decide to take the ring back. My ring is way too pretty to allow that to happen.
